What is a Dog Park?
A dog park is a recreational area where dogs are not only allowed, they are welcomed! Because dog parks are fenced in, dogs may walk, run, play, and train off leash when accompanied by a responsible handler.
Dog Parks have rules, but good canine citizenship keeps most parks in good condition. Depending on available resources, dog parks may have restrooms, shelters, seating areas, and landscape like other community parks.
General Information about Menomonie's Dog Park
The City of Menomonie has approved 11.5 acres off of Brickyard Road in Menomonie for use as a dog park. A group of citizens, now known as the "Friends of Menomonie Dog Park", are designing the park, developing rules and guidlines, getting people involved, and soliciting financial support for the project.
Initially the park will be simple, but as support increases in the future, amenities such as water sources and benches can be added.
